Isolation
To some is foreign
Others frightening
Seeking solace through their smart phone
Addicted to what their state will issue next
Because being with their inner being
They can hear its voice
So loud in the solitude
It’s deafening
It wants to be heard
So it continues to speak loudly
In one run-on sentence
I want to fly
Run to the edge
Leap off the cliff
Plunge to the depths
Inhale the salty ion air
The opposite of the Phoenix
It wants to skim rock bottom
Anywhere other than mandated quarantine
