I had the pleasure of participating in my dear friend, Collin J Rae’s, photoshoot for Pandemic Portraits: Volume 2 back in June.

Backstory

When the world shut down back in March 2020, Collin was at a loss when it came to shooting.  Being confined to his abode, like the rest of the world, he created a way to still shoot and produce art.

What started as a “Zoom shoot”, shooting the model via Zoom, turned into a “line around the building” type scenario for the famed photographer.

Droves of models quickly responded to his request.  Afterall, they had nothing else better to do.

With each one scheduled, Collin began his first of many projects.

When the war in Ukraine started earlier this year, Collin started his second project: Pandemic Portraits: Volume 1.

He did this for one reason: to create the book and send the royalties made off it to his friend who lives in the war-torn country.

The Concept

Collin brought his mental creation to fruition by finding different types of glassware, in the form of jars, drinking glasses, etc. He then placed the objects between his camera lens and his computer monitor.

The Result

Volume-1 was a such a hit that Collin went ahead and started Volume-2 right away.  Again, with all the royalties going to his friend and her family in Ukraine.

Below are some of the 400 shots taken, via two Zoom calls, all in the span of 20-minutes total.

To delve into the world, and the mastermind, who is Collin J. Rae, pick up both Pandemic Portraits: Volume-1 and Volume-2 on Amazon.  Again, all royalties are sent to his friend and family in Ukraine.
