Lunar Tide: Abstract Moon Art Inspired by the Sturgeon Full Moon

Lunar Tide was created from a photograph I took Tuesday morning of August’s impending Sturgeon Full Moon. I gave the moon a warm bronzed tone and layered it over an abstract background created from a photograph of my vulva, which I distorted into flowing waves using Canva’s Warp app.

Lunar Tide presented as a magazine-style cover concept, combining original moon photography with abstract body-based digital manipulation.

The moon influences ocean tides and the rhythms of marine life, so I wanted the body beneath it to carry that same sense of pull and movement. The result became a meeting point between body, water, and lunar energy, all recurring themes within my work.
