A Workshop Created by a Self-Published Author

One of the things I’m most excited about is bringing real-world publishing experience into the classroom.

Over the years, I’ve learned every stage of the independent publishing process firsthand. From writing and editing to cover creation, branding, formatting, ebook production, and paperback publishing.

I’ll also be bringing copies of some of my previously published books and projects so attendees can see what the process looks like from idea to finished product.

Class 1: Get Out of Your Head & Start Writing

The first workshop is designed for beginners, aspiring authors, poets, creatives, and anyone who has been carrying around a story they haven’t started yet.

This class focuses on:

• overcoming perfectionism
• getting past creative overthinking
• building writing momentum
• finding your creative voice
• learning how to begin before you feel “ready”

This is not an academic writing class.

You do not need writing experience.

You do not need a finished idea.

You do not need to know exactly what kind of writer you are yet.

You simply need the willingness to start.

Class 2: Understand What You’re Creating

Class 2 helps writers move from inspiration into structure. We’ll explore how to shape your ideas into a cohesive project, identify your audience, and understand what type of book you’re actually creating. Whether you’re writing poetry, memoir, fiction, or creative nonfiction, this session is designed to bring clarity and direction to your work.

Class 3: Finish • Publish • Launch

Class 3 focuses on turning a completed manuscript into a finished book. We’ll discuss editing, formatting, cover design, Amazon KDP, publishing options, and practical next steps for launching your work into the world. The goal is to leave with a clear understanding of how to move from manuscript to published author.

All three workshops will be held in person at The Healing Shoppe in Upland, California, and seating is intentionally limited to create a more interactive and supportive learning environment.
